The Barskhor is the jungle's apex predator.
Its scales shift colors to match the season, in spring, they are red, matching the blooms of the Tsetsegkhor grass. As it stalks, the Khorkhoi insects, called stinging devils by some, pollinate those flowers as they draw nectar.
These red-winged birds nest in the galmod tree's heavy branches and feed on its blood cherries. Remains from those fruits fertilize the soil, creating the exact composition for the Tsetsegkhor grass to grow.
Yet their favorite treat is the khorkhoi, the stinging devils that pollinate the tsetsegkhor grass.
These black and red insects swarm the jungle all times of year, but particularly in spring when they can draw nectar from, and pollinate the tsetsegkhor grass.
They use the nectar to make a type of tart honey. If heated right, you can add it to tea. If not, you die.
Chuluutsetseg mushrooms produce sweet spores that travel for miles, attracting animals of all kinds, many of which are perfect prey for the barskhor.
They grow among the roots of the blood cherry tree, thanks to droppings from the heartwing finches above.
Rend World doesn't just change the monsters. It changes your characters.
Trained in the fighting pits beneath volcanic vents, Smoke Claw monks channel toxic fumes through their ki. Their strikes leave trails of acrid haze, and welts full of poison.
No cover can protect you from the smoke claw.
Where other tinkerers work in steel and wood, Boneweavers build from what the dead leave behind. Skeletal constructs, bone-laced armor, and marrow-powered weapons. Their craft sits at the intersection of necromancy and engineering.
Nothing is wasted. Recycle, reuse, reanimate.
